Mechanical Tests

(per Rath standards, ASME SA249, and ASTM A270 / A249 / A450)

  • Reverse bend, flattening, and flange testing
  • Eddy current (non-destructive electric) testing
  • All material is 100% bore-scoped prior to mechanical polish
  • On request: hydrostatic and other tests

Annealing

  • Bright annealed to 1900° F (1040°C) minimum and rapidly quenched

Cleaning

All Rath® Micro-Weld 20Ra ID maximum high purity tubing is available from stock with ID cleaned for oxygen service. Other ID cleaning procedures are available including thermocouple cleaning per ASTM A632 or Nitric Acid & DI Water Rinse. Rath's DI water system guarantees 50 PPB and a restivity of 17.98 to 18.03.

Rath also utilizes ultra high purity 99.9999% pure Nitrogen which is filtered to .003 micron at the point of use. Cleaning and packaging is performed in a Class 100 clean room.

Surface Finish

Surface finish is 20Ra ID maximum (roughness average in u-inches) measured per ANSI B46.1-1995 with the profilometer reading at 90 degrees to major polishing pattern.
